Jacket Block

The low Double-Breasted Jacket fastens at the hip, which has its roots in the 1930s and ‘40s, seen in films that Edward long admired like Casablanca, and this too relies on the delicate balancing of proportions. The lower buttoning point and subtly extended shoulder-line focuses the eyes on the shoulder and hip rather than accentuating the waist. This creates a louche, masculine and fluid silhouette. We cut these jackets slightly looser in the body and without rear vents, true to their art deco archetypes.

Trouser Description

Our iconic Oxford bag trouser cut from a beautifully textured white linen and wool blend cloth.

Based on patterns used by Edward and Tommy Nutter the 70's, the generous proportions of the leg allows for a full flowing drape, which is benefited further by this character rich linen blend fabric.

Pair with our matching white low Double-Breasted jacket for the full white summer suit, or wear with a contrasting navy jacket and open collar shirt for timeless smart summer attire.

Trouser Block

With roots dating back to the 1920's these trousers began life as a comfortable garment for students of Oxford university, before finding their place as a staple in 40's swing dance halls, and again in 1970's soul movements. With heritage running through from old school university wealth to dance and music, these trousers are truly a little piece of history.
