New for the season, we are introducing two new styles of shirt to complement our existing tab, pin and classic collars. Made by the same shirtmaker, we have a crisp linen safari shirt that features a tall one-piece collar that rolls elegantly for a casual look, a clean placket, squared hemline and two pleated bellows pockets on the chest. We also have a two styles of our new concealed button-down collar. It has a contemporary fit, in-set sleeves, deep cuffs and single-needle French seams, but we’ve replaced our signature tab and pin-holes for a hidden button-down design that fastens beneath the collar’s two points. This helps the collar to sit clean on the neck, and looks sharp with or without a tie. Although they are two new styles, we have maintained the Sexton look of the strong lines and the famous signature collar shape.
We still have our classic pin and tab collars shirts which are cut in superior two-ply super 100s Italian cotton satin. We use only single-stitched seams to avoid puckering, with delicate swelled edges finishing each collar. We have also developed a set-in sleeve for our shirts. Following the principles of a bespoke jacket, this keeps the front of the shirt clean and allows the shirt-sleeve to be pitched perfectly.
We keep our shirt collars slightly taller than normal with deep points which frame the face beautifully, drawing influence from the sharp geometric lines of art-deco menswear. This also creates a balanced relationship between shirt-collar, tie-blade and lapels. Our signature Sexton tab and pin-collar styles are designed to lift a tie from the neck for an expressive flourish. Our understated house look depends upon a concise palette of classic plains and stripes, so a selection of soft blues, white and cream forms an elegant base for your Sexton suiting.
