In February 1975, during her year-long separation from John Lennon, Yoko Ono asked David Nutter to create a series of compositions with a look-alike mannequin she had recently acquired. Shooting in Ono’s Manhattan apartment, Nutter spent hours taking photographs of the mannequin in March 1975. This is the most remarkable image of the series, with Ono’s mannequin poised naked over Lennon’s famous white piano. Ono never fed-back on the photographs, so the negatives have been kept in storage. This is the first time any of the series has been developed since 1975.
