Description
Soft, mottled, and textured - this sky blue silk blend was made for a trouser with this much movement. The Oxford Bags are big, full, and genuinely flowing, and in this cloth they take on a real richness - the silk catches the light as the fabric moves, the linen keeps it fresh, and the wool ensures the whole thing holds its shape with easy confidence. Pleated fronts, cut to sit just below the navel, with that incredible width that Edward was cutting in the late sixties and early seventies.

About the block
With roots dating back to the 1920's these trousers began life as a comfortable garment for students of Oxford university, before finding their place as a staple in 40's swing dance halls, and again in 1970's soul movements. With heritage running through from old school university wealth to dance and music, these trousers are truly a little piece of history.
Cloth information
A powdery sky blue with a mottled, light-catching texture that shifts subtly as you move — this is a cloth that earns a closer look. Woven in Italy from 75% wool, 15% silk, and 10% linen, each fibre pulls its weight: the silk gives richness and a dry, smooth luminosity; the linen introduces texture and breathability; the wool provides the structure and recovery that keep the cloth looking sharp. The result is light, refined, and genuinely distinctive.

Made to order garments are based on our ready to wear garment measurements, as seen on our size guide. This option allows you to order an out of stock garment to be created for you specially - without changes to measurements or style. This service is predominantly for existing customers who are familiar with how our garments fit, but require a size that is unavailable or sold out in store.
Standard make time for Made to Order garments is 6-8 weeks, though express options and associated fees are available. For express items, please contact the team.
Made to Measure garments are priced slightly higher than Made to Order and will require a consultation with one of our team. Existing customers can just email us to order a made to measure garment.
