Notched lapels can look handsome too, particularly on business suits or sports jackets, which can afford to be a little more understated. We eschew slim lapels, whether peaked or notched, in favour of generous shapes that reinforce an hourglass silhouette. Adding a second button to a single-breasted jacket likewise softens its impact, but is nonetheless extremely elegant and can help to balance the slightly shorter, squarer proportions of notched lapels.

Our classic gentlemen’s trouser developed in 2023 is clean and close around the top but fuller through the knee and hem. This trouser is both comfortable and timelessly elegant, and with its 2” waistband with a long extension and side adjusters, it sits beautifully on an elegant shoe or rests naturally on a trainer.

Serious and refined. A dark charcoal ground with a mid-grey fine chalk stripe at a three-quarter inch repeat, woven in Italy from 100% wool at 340g per metre. Bold in proportion but soft and mottled in colour, the stripe has a quiet power that rewards a closer look without ever announcing itself.
